Recent junior achievements and events

Scarbro Tennis Tournament:

Players: Zac Wight, Josh Donovan, Supreet Kaur, Arshpreet Kaur, Siyoung Noh, Jeremiah Bernstein, Bezalel Bernstein, Cooper Wallace

Jeremiah Bernstein (9) and Siyoung Noh (10) came 3rd place in the 10U Boys Doubles. Considering this was their first tournament, it was an amazing result.

Josh Donovan got 3rd place in the 12U Boys age group. He beat some very solid players comfortably in the early rounds which was very impressive.

Aaron and John Mills took a group of junior players over to Albany Tennis Centre during the second week of the school holidays. For some, it was their first tournament experience and it was great to see all players competing and supporting each other during their matches. I’m sure they all learnt a lot and gained some vital match experience.

Players – Ariyan Umrigar, Joshua Stephens, Owen Thompson, Cooper Wallace, Zac Wight, Supreet Kaur and Arshpreet Kaur

Arshpreet Kaur came runner up in the 12U girls and beat the top seed a long the way, which was an incredible achievement.

Zac Wight won the 16U Boys Doubles

Josh Donovan also competed in the New Plymouth open and won the 12U age group and came runner up in the 14U age group.

We had a great turnout at the Tennis Under the Stars Exhibition Tournament. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it a huge success! We will be running something similar once again next year which will be Bigger and Better!

The courts and club rooms can be hired out for private functions at very competitive rates. We have been hired out in the past by companies to run team building events and private birthday celebrations. Please get in touch with me for more information.

A big thank you to our Sponsors Barfoot and Thomson, Award Carpets, Marie Raos – Ray White, Liquorland Howick and Stihl Howick. Please kindly support them in return.

Hope you enjoy the photos which highlight the Junior Prizegiving and Tennis Under the Stars Tournament.

Stay warm and I look forward to seeing you all at the Club.

Best wishes
