Howick Junior Club Coaching – Term 4 2023

Matt Jones is back from his holiday in Japan and is excited to deliver the club coaching again this season. There are a few changes made to the coaching times but the coaching days will be held on same days as previous seasons –  Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays. Please have a read of the information below and contact Matt directly for any coaching queries. It is important that he knows who is coming to the coaching so he can do the best he can to group the juniors accordingly. 

Monday Night Coaching for social players – For intermediate/social players

Start Date 9th October, Finish date 11th December. Time 6:00pm to 7:00pm. This is an extra session for some interclub players.

Wednesday Junior Interclub Trainings 

Start Date 11th of October, Finish Date 13th December

4:00pm to 5:00pm – 10 and under Players 

5:00pm to 6:00pm – 12 and under players 

6:00pm to 7:00pm – 14 & 16 and under players 

Wednesday Beginner Coaching

Start Date 11th of October, Finish Date 13th December

TIme 3:40pm to 4:30pm

This is a RED & ORANGE session for 5 to 10 year olds who are just starting out and unable to make the Saturday morning coaching. Spots are limited to 6 RED and 6 ORANGE. 

Saturday Morning Beginner Coaching 

Start Date 14th of October, Finish Date16th December (No coaching on Labour Day weekend 21st of Oct) Changes to the times have been made to accommodate the appropriate age groups and court space. (Note for any players who can’t make Saturday mornings please email Matt)

Times – Saturday Morning 

8.30am to 9.30am – 5 to 8 yr olds RED BALL 

8.30am to 9.30am – 8 to 10 yr olds ORANGE BALL (new players) 

9.30am to 10.30am – 9 to 12 yr olds ORANGE BALL (returning players) 

10.30am to 11.30am – 10 + GREEN & YELLOW BALL (full court tennis) 

IMPORTANT! JUNIOR INTERCLUB

Matt Jones will be putting together the team entries for Auckland Interclub and needs your information. (1). Players name and Age – DOB. (2). Previous Team (3). Preferred Day Saturday or Sunday for Pre Xmas Competition. (Note Post Xmas is a new competition) If you would like to volunteer to be team manger please let us know. Matt will assign one parent as a point of contact. 

(Also note players from Beginner Interclub competition on Saturdays 12pm will most likely be in an open grade 8.30am on Saturday or Sunday)
